International speaking stars include Prof Jim Macnamara talking about ‘The Social Organisation’, Prof Pradip Thomas of University of Queensland speaking to ‘Communicating for Social Change’ and Dr Andy Ruddock of Monash Uni in Melbourne looking at ‘Fandom’ and the creation of authentic experiences for sports fans online.
From New Zealand, delegates will hear from the communicators at the forefront and in the crisis room for Rena in the Bay of Plenty and from the communicators responding to the Christchurch Earthquakes.
Day one plays host to a trio of leading edge guru. Learn and be inspired by Jared Julian from the Department of Internal Affairs, leading the Government’s Social Media Guidance project, Nat Torkington who organised Kiwi Foo Camp and the NZ Open Government project talking about ‘Technology to transform democracy’ and John Buckley aka Gadget Guy on ‘The rise of the Digital Kiwi’.
Day two ends with a focus on the future, with the conference close by leading academic Prof David McKie of Waikato Management School looking ahead locally and globally.
